Tampering with records is a felony
After attending Candidates Night and reading an article in the Dispatch that said Twelve documents were missing from one file and they weren’t sure how many documents niay he missing from others (others meaning one’s having an issue before the Town Board), it simply amazes me how Councilwoman Mary Cooke and wannabe Bruce Kaiser arc portraying this File gate sinisterly saying that it is “blown out of proportion.” Dick Crawford said at a town board meeting that only a couple of pieces of paper were missing from one tile.
The Building Inspector from Wheat field says that in 31 years he hasn’t had a problem. Ill bet he has control over his files and is able to lock them up, unlike our Building department. Doug Learman was told to remove newly installed locks that were installed by him because be knew there was a problem.
According to NY State Law, pg. 92 #175.25, tampering with Public Records in the First Degree is a Class D Felony. A Felony? I was taught that a felony is a serious crime!
Why do all the problems relating to the files revolve around Zoning? Do we have a problem with zoning on Grand Island?
We should demand of Supervisor Pax that our files be put under lock and key, the building department head to be in control of the files, that the locks on town hall he changed, and a list kept of all who have possession of a key or a pass card, seeing right now no one really knows who has keys. It’s harder to get into our fire department than it is town hall, isn’t it?
